The expansion of IT up to rural area has paved the way for introducing e-commerce at union level for selling and buying of products, reports BSS from Moulvibazar.
“The government is planning to introduce e-commerce at Union Digital Centers (UISCs) and training is being provided to entrepreneurs of the centers on outsourcing and e-commerce,” Director General of Department of ICT Banamali Bhowmik told a workshop at deputy commissioner’s conference room in Moulvibazar yesterday. Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) arranged the workshop with Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar Md. Tofail Ahmed in the chair. It was addressed, among others, by senior journalist and communication specialist Ajit Kumar Sarkar, Programme Director of Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan and Executive Editor of TSB Dr. Waliur Rhaman.
Banamali urged the entrepreneurs to depict the success stories and development activities that have been taking place at grassroots level using the dynamic website of union parishad and social media. The training, he said, on outsourcing and e-commerce will help UDC entrepreneurs to implement government’s plan to turn into mini-business process outsourcing centers.
Banamali said the ICT affairs adviser to the Prime Minister Sajeeb Wazed Joy has expressed his desire to set up information center in each village of the country.
